Sometimes the hardest part of a project is knowing where to begin.
This one-hour meeting gives us the opportunity to sit down in your home, talk through what you’re considering, and look at the space together.
We’ll discuss what you want to change, what matters most to you, your investment, timeline, and any ideas you already have.
It’s also our chance to meet, talk openly about the project, and decide whether working together feels like the right fit.
If you’d like to continue with Caval, we’ll recommend the level of design support your project needs and provide a fee proposal for the next phase.
FULL-SERVICE INTERIOR DESIGN
FROM CONCEPT TO COMPLETION

You bring us the home. We take care of the many decisions that turn it into the one you’ve been imagining. We look at the project as a whole—how the rooms connect, how you move through them, what needs to function better, and how you want the home to feel. From there, we develop the design, work through the technical details, select every element, and collaborate with the people responsible for building it. As the project moves from drawings to construction and installation, we remain closely involved.
We coordinate the details, answer questions as they arise, and make sure what was envisioned on paper translates into the finished home.
It’s our most involved service and is intended for clients who want one design vision carried consistently from beginning to end.

You may already have a contractor you trust. You may enjoy managing a renovation yourself. Or perhaps you simply want a professional plan before deciding how and when to tackle the work.
That’s where Design Only comes in.
We take your project through the creative and design phase, working through the layout, materials, finishes, millwork, and other details required for your particular space.
You’ll be able to see how everything works together before committing to construction or purchases.
Once the design is complete, we hand it over to you with the drawings, selections, and sourcing information we’ve developed. From there, you manage purchasing, trades, scheduling, and installation on your own.
FURNISHING & STYLING
FOR HOMES THAT NEED THE NEXT LAYER

Sometimes the architecture is already right, but the home just doesn’t feel finished yet.
We use furniture, lighting, rugs, textiles, window coverings, art, and objects to give the space warmth, character and a stronger sense of you.
We can begin with an empty home or work around pieces you already own and want to keep.
Rather than selecting pieces individually, we think about the room as a composition: how the proportions work, where contrast is needed, how materials relate to one another, and what will make the space feel collected rather than simply furnished.
The result is a home that feels settled, layered and complete.

What should I budget for my project?
There isn’t one number that works for every home. The size of your space, the level of renovation and the materials and furnishings you choose all shape the overall investment. Your design fee is separate from the cost of bringing the project to life—including construction, trades, materials, fixtures and furnishings. Early in the process, we’ll have an open conversation about budget so the design we develop is aligned with what you’re comfortable investing.
How are design fees determined?
Every project requires a different level of involvement, so our fees are tailored to the scope of work. After learning more about your home and what you need from us, we’ll provide a clear proposal outlining our services and associated design fees before we begin.
Do I need to know exactly what I want before contacting you?
Not at all. You may have a very clear vision, a collection of inspiration images, or simply know that your home isn’t working for you anymore. Part of our role is helping you uncover what you’re drawn to, understand what your space needs, and turn those ideas into a clear, cohesive direction.
How far in advance should I reach out?
Earlier than you might think. Good design takes time, and so do drawings, selections, pricing, ordering, and coordinating the people involved. If you’re planning a renovation or hoping to have your home completed by a particular date, reaching out early gives us the time to make thoughtful decisions rather than rushing through them.
Do I need to use your contractors and trades?
Not necessarily. If you already have a contractor or trusted trades in place, we’re happy to discuss how they can fit into the project. For full-service projects, we can also work with our network of trades, fabricators, and suppliers. The right approach depends on the scope of your project and how involved you’d like us to be.
